Wayamba Hotel School
The proposed Hotel School is being constructing at Maguruoyawatta, Halpara, Malkaduwawa, Kurunegala. Estimated cost of this project is Rs. 122 Mn and granted by Provincial Specific Development Grants.
This is a prominent project that is been carried out by Wayamba Development Authority and high priority has been given by the Hon. Chief Minister of North Western Province According to the prevailing education system in Sri Lanka , out of a total student population only 1% enters the Universities for higher education. To make use of the rest and utilize the drop- out human resources, the Hotel School has been implemented with the intension of absorbing around 500 students per year, which will be employment as soon as they fulfill their courses.In Sri Lanka the problem that arises in the tourism sector is the lack of skilled personnel in the Hotel trade. When tourists travel out of the main cities they face lot of problems due to the inadequate service in the tourism field, specially in the Hotel sector.By this project it intends to fill this vacuum by training skilled personnel in tourism sector. This will be done by conducting internationally recognized courses in the hotel sector. It hopes to train 500 students annually conducting the following training courses.

The qualified students have opportunities to gain employment locally as well as in foreign countries. The output will be an immense contribution to enhance the tourism sector in the North Western Province .These skilled human resources will be earn and gain benefits to the country and it will be eliminate youth frustration which has been considered as Number one priority under the " Mahinda Chinthana Concept"
